The Chauvin Arnoux CA1821 is a single-input, datalogging digital thermometer which allows you to log temperature readings from a single attached temperature probe over a period of time.
Suitable for use with type J, K, T, N, E and R thermocouple temperature probes, you can use the CA1821 in any temperature measurement application, provided you have the correct probe. For example, the CA1821 could be combined with a surface temperature probe for measuring the temperature of a metallic surface, or perhaps something like measuring food temperature. You could also use it to measure air temperatures, liquid temperatures and the temperature of pipes.
If you wish to record temperature over a time period, you can set the interval at which the meter will log from every minute up to 2 hours. You can also set a start date and end date using the included PC software, then plug the meter in afterwards to download results. Results can be downloaded and displayed in table or graphical formats, with easy export into Excel spreadsheets or JPG image files. The software is also fully suitable for logging in real time as the meter is still measuring.
The temperature range, resolution and accuracy of measurement results will vary depending on which temperature probe you use alongside the CA1821. For more information on these specs, see the technical specifications section further below the page.
Thanks to a built-in magnet, you can use the CA1821 completely hands-free. Just configure, place on a metallic surface and leave to log over your defined measurement period.
